TAJ MAHAL

It is said that the Shah had cut his hands all the major players on the construction of the temple, so they could not build a similar or Leps buildings. Closer to the truth is the version that it was an echo of similar stories that accompany large buildings, and that the Shah only had a contract with them not to repeat the offense.

The poetic legend that accompanies the words Rabindranta Tagore that "Taj Mahal tear on the cheek of time", says that every year during the rainy season at the mausoleum falls just a single drop of rain.

Taj Mahal is considered the finest specimen of the Mughal architecture, a style that carries elements of Islamic, Indian and Persian culture and tradition. There you can find elements of famous Timuridskih and Mughal buildings - Gur-e Amir (the tomb of Timur, the originator of the dynasty can, buried in Samarkand), Humajunovog tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulahovog grave, commonly referred to as the baby-Taj and Masdžid Mosque - the largest mosque in Delhi. The Taj is the first Mughal temple built of white marble decorated with semi-precious stones, which Mughal architecture on a higher level.

The complex of buildings within the Taj Mahal consists of five main elements: Darvaza (main gate), BAIC (garden), masjid (mosque), Nakarhana (holiday house) and Rauza (main mausoleum). The complex is surrounded on three sides by high walls built of red brick, while the parties to the Yamuna allowed visitors to enjoy the scenery.

The tomb of Mumtaz Mahal is located in the central building, in a simple and not overly decorated memljivoj crypt beneath the floor Rauza. On it was written twenty-nine names Allah`s. Next to it is the tomb of Shah Džahana, the same shape just a little bigger. This is the only case in which the Taj stands out from perfect symmetry. The tomb of Shah Džahana is embedded pen box, which is characteristic of a male ruler. The inscription on it says: "He's gone from this world into eternity reveals the twenty-seventh night of the month Radžaba 1076 year of the Hegira." Copies of these graves can be seen above - that's what you see when you enter the mausoleum. Lace fence around the graves was made to order Šahovog son Aurungzeba almost translucent marble and is unsurpassed in its beauty.

Rauza is an irregular octagon, the length of some 55 meters on the longer sides. The central dome is 35 meters high. It was covered with gold, but it was replaced by a gold-plated bronze early 19th century. Inside is decorated with a sun motif. On the four sides are smaller domes, the same shape as the one central.

Forty meters high minarets Rauza frame on all four sides. Constructed as com- pletely functional - to allow the muezzin that with them calling to prayer. They are set slightly away from Rauza, so as not to accidentally turned on them, as often happened tall buildings of the time.

Islam preaches ban shows a man in the art, and the Taj can see only records calligraphy, abstract arabesque motifs of flowers and plants. They are everywhere quotes from the Koran. Above the entrance is the inscription "Honey, rest in art. Return to the Lord in peace and may He be at peace with you." Interestingly, as labels set up higher, they are written increasing font size, so that the impression is that all of the same size, wherever they are.

Special attention was paid to acoustics. From the moment you make a sound until its complete disappearance of whole needs 28 seconds. So tell him who pronounces the prayer from the Koran for the soul Mumtaz Mahal repeated many times and last longer.

Rauza was built so that it can be entered on all four sides, but is now open only to enter the south entrance, overlooking the garden. The look through is also a pearl of beauty and art. Artisanal work that era was so subtle that even the decorative elements of 3 centimeters containing more than 50 decorative jewels. Letters verses from the Koran on the arches look the same size, regardless of the height at which they are located. The technique used for interior decoration known as pietra dura. Boils down to tapping into hard stones are softer due to the decorative impression.

Taj Mahal looks different depending on the time of day and season. The color of the sky is reflected in the white marble, while the sun's rays it added an element of eternity. Particularly striking in the days of the full moon. Sometimes, in the foggy morning, if viewed from the fortress of Agra, it seems as if the castle floating on a carpet of clouds.

The rectangular base of the Taj Mahal is a symbol of different parties with whom we see a beautiful woman. The main entrance is like a veil to a woman's face, which should be very gently and slowly rise up on their wedding night. In the moonlight, the Taj shines when semiprecious stones imbedded into the white marble mausoleum catch the main glow of moonlight. The Taj is pinkish in the morning, milky evening and golden when the moon shines. These changes, as they say, depict the different moods female.

Quote from the book "Questions and Answers", Vikas Svarupa

Garden around the Taj Mahal is also a kind of architectural and architectural achievement. Intersected a rainbow fountain that leads to the entrance and which is surrounded by cypress trees that would direct the attention of visitors to the mausoleum, which is reflected in it and thus multiplies its beauty. Wherever standing in the garden, the Taj can be clearly seen. Ispresecenama the paths and fountains. It is inspired by Persian gardens, and symbolizes the four rivers Dženeta (heaven). It is rich in vegetation, which the British Poseka during his reign and edit on the model of the London lawns.

Great Gate (džarvaza) divided secular bazaar and caravanserai of spiritual tranquility and sublimity mauzolja. It was made of silver, and now boasts a mosaic of marble slabs, with natpissima from the Koran among which stands out the call "pure in heart" to enter the "heavenly garden".

Sam Shah Džahan described his work with the words:

If fault here seek shelter

As well as those who were forgiven and being freed from sin

If sinner went to this palace

All sins that has been done will be forgiven;

I look at this court recognizes the sadness

And the sun and the moon wipe their tears from her eyes

In this world is composed of buildings

To display the glory of the Creator

British poet Sir Edwin Arnold, said that "the Taj is not an architectural work such as other buildings, but the passion of love one ruler forged out of solid rock."

Even during the construction of the Taj Mahal was growing tension at the court of Shah Džahana caused by his neglect of regal prerogatives, the huge cost of construction, which even threatened the financial stability of the empire and the struggle for supremacy among the heirs. Respecting the desire of Mumtaz Mahal, Shah did not like was expected slew their children, which has led to the court intrigues and preganjanjima. Everything was interrupted by his son Aurangzeb who killed two brothers and a large number of their children. His father was imprisoned in the fortress of Agra, where the next nine years with jasmine tower just unable to observe the Taj Mahal in the distance. Thus, Shah failed to fulfill the last wish of his beloved wife to her every year to the tomb.

Sled historical events has always shared the Taj Mahal. The temple is falling apart, and parts of buildings, ornaments and valuables pulled at sundry thieves, including British colonists who were in the mid 19th century, took off the precious stones from the walls. In the late 19th century, Lord Krzon ordered the restoration, which was completed in 1908.

During World War II embankments were raised about the Taj for a possible attack from the air at first the Germans and then the Japanese. The same was done during the wars between India and Pakistan in 1965 and 1971, due to the threat of guided missiles.

Today, the Taj Mahal they marched between 2 and 4 million tourists a year. Since Mumtaz died in childbirth, is considered martyr, and her grave is visited by numerous pilgrims.

The complex is open to visit during the day and during the full moon and two days before and after, as well as some nocturnal visit, except for Friday and Ramadan. Because of secure reasons, we can enter only 5 items: water in transparent bottles, small video camera, camera, cell phone and small ladies handbags. The security guards, including a dressing room for excess stuff, works very well.

For a tour of the Taj to take time to be alone and slowly enjoy every detail of its beauty. The difference between what you see on postcards or from a distance, and the scene that breaks before your eyes when you pass Darvaza is immeasurable. It can not be simply described the impression that the Taj Mahal leaves.

The Indian government is investing huge efforts to preserve the Taj Mahal. Particular danger today represent acid rain. Because of possible damage (the Taj could easily be your belještavu white paint replaced the yellow patinastom), dislocated a nearby oil refinery and prohibited traffic in the area of about 10 square kilometers, and from the parking lot to the Taj comes on foot, rickshaw ljudki to drive cars or to golf. They say that recently used a special preparation that Indian women used since ancient times for bleaching face to most of the specific color of marble.
